Judge Lisa Swenski
The Honorable Lisa I. Swenski was elected to the bench in November 2012. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo in 1995 and went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree at The University of Toledo College of Law in 1999. She is licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, United States Northern District Court of Ohio, and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Prior to beginning her legal career, she worked as a corporate investigator and security supervisor for several U.S. government contractors. At the time of her election, Swenski practiced as an attorney at Simonoff & Swenski, Co., LPA. Her legal career also included work as a juvenile delinquency magistrate for the Lorain County Juvenile Detention Home (2005 to 2008) and a domestic relations magistrate for the Lorain County Family Court (2009). In those roles, she presided over contested custody, divorces, spousal support, and child support cases along with juvenile delinquency matters.
Prior to taking her seat as a Judge, she was active with the Voices for Children Program (volunteer CASA/GAL), the Animal Protective League, Operation Smile, Southern Poverty Law Center, the Cleveland National Air Show, the National Rights Protection and Advocacy Group (NARPA), and the National Rifle Association.
